About...
Hello and welcome, we were established in April of 2019, under the Motor City Eagles, a program that was strictly about building a basketball team due to a strong parent group that pushed for summer basketball was born. We later changed our name to the Dragons as of February 2020, we're located in the beautiful city of Detroit, Michigan. We strongly pride ourselves on building our youth while instilling integrity, love and respect for athletics and academics.

We are excited to be entering our seventh year of operation in the 2025 season. Once being a Spring/Summer program we have now expanded into being all year with breaks only being for school team seasons. Because we are based in Detroit, MI we operate according to the Detroit Public Schools Community District schedules, (this allows our players to focus only on school play and not put in a position to make a choice between the two). Outside of sports, we are working diligently to help build life and social skills for all of our youth, parents and coaches within our program. We are always looking to add committed, passionate and trust-worthy coaches to help lead our programs on and off the playing surface. Last year we made program history by adding pep squad to our program and expanded to the high school level this year.
We are proud to announce that our 17u boys team will be playing on the Prep Hoops circuit in 2025, our other teams take part in in-state tournaments mainly with one out-of-state tournament in July. We are looking to add youth that love to take their talent(s) to the next level academically and athletically, we firmly believe in being a student first and athlete second. We have very intense practices, educational studies while building strong bonding memories. Our parent support has continued to be our backbone yearly!

In closing, we live by the motto that we preach "we WORK hard; to WIN easy". This applies far beyond competition but everyday life. This is a reminder that the "work" you put in will have you become a winner/greatness in your life. Our program does not persuade any student-athletes to attend any local High schools, we are here to support and help our youth with decisions that will better them in life not brands. We operate on integrity not intentions.

How we help...
Motor City Dragons Athletics give opportunity to youth who have been overlooked because of their skill-set or their struggles in the classroom. We are designed to strengthen our young men and women weaknesses so that they can have the same opportunity as everyone else to further their education and possibly their athletic careers.

We practice sportsmanship, as well as developing foundational skills in both the classroom and on the playing field. Teaching our young men and women how to become leaders of tomorrow.

We provide experiences of playing in front of high school and college coaches. We also offer tutoring and mentoring to help develop skills and improve performance in the classroom.

Gone But Never Forgotten
From our Founder, Fredrick Adams, Jr., Harry "Ace" Lloyd, Jr., was a man that loved his daughters and a man of integrity. He loved football since his days with the Cubs in Detroit, Michigan. His impact on our organization will last forever, plans were in place for him to become the overseer of our football program that will be operational in the next five years. In his honor we are planning to eventually build a football stadium that will be named ACE FIELD. Anyone that knows him, know he loves for everyone to have fun that's around him. We are going to continue to do just that as his legacy will live on forever.
